Main Types of Pipe Caps
1. By Connection Type (Most Used in Industry)
– Butt‑Weld Cap (BW Cap)
Welded directly to the pipe end with beveled ends (BE). Provides a permanent, high‑strength seal for high‑pressure, high‑temperature systems.
– Socket‑Weld Cap (SW Cap)
Pipe is inserted into the cap’s socket and fillet‑welded. Used for medium‑pressure small‑bore piping.
– Threaded Cap (TD Cap)
